About VoteYourPay
Independent civic technology translating party manifestos and tax codes into one number that matters: your projected take-home pay.
Our mission
Electoral debates stay abstract until they reach the payslip. VoteYourPay bridges legislative rhetoric and household economics by combining statutory tax codes with published party platforms into live, per-country simulators. Visitors enter gross pay, see the exact statutory path to net income, then replay the same calculation under each major party’s proposals — alongside live polling that shows which scenario is currently most likely.
We cover 19 electorates: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Japan, South Korea, India, Brazil and Mexico. Every country page publishes its 2026 tax-bracket table, social-security rates, allowances, party-scenario documentation and official-source links so any figure can be verified in minutes.
Editorial independence
VoteYourPay accepts no campaign contributions, lobbying funds or partisan sponsorships. Party scenarios are parameterised exclusively from public manifestos and finance-ministry costings, applied symmetrically to all parties, and labelled as projections — never endorsements. Corrections follow a public log: verified statutory errors are fixed within 72 hours and noted on the Methodology page. Advertising (Google AdSense) funds infrastructure only and never influences rankings, scenarios or editorial text.
Who builds this
We are a small distributed team of engineers, economists and translators operating voteyourpay.com as an independent project. Tax logic is implemented in auditable open JavaScript engines shipped with each page (e.g. usa-tax-engine.js), polling aggregation is documented per country, and all computation runs locally in the visitor’s browser — salary inputs never leave the device. For questions, corrections, press or data partnerships write to Contact.
Update cadence & accountability
Statutory tables track tax year 2026 as gazetted by each authority (IRS, HMRC, CRA, ATO, Revenue, IRD, Belastingdienst, ESTV, BMF, DGFiP, AEAT, Agenzia delle Entrate, KAS, GİB, NTA, NTS, CBDT, Receita Federal, SAT). Polling series refresh continuously from listed aggregators. Anything the engine simplifies — regional surcharges, special regimes, uncosted promises — is disclosed on the country page and in Methodology & Official Sources. Outputs are educational simulations, not personal tax advice.
